Supporting academics, R&D institutions and startups on innovation
The programme allows qualified companies and organizations to get free access to the Altibox LoRaWAN network and the Dimension Four IoT platform for a defined period of time, allowing them to drive early stage innovation and prototyping, keeping cost down while fast tracking time to market.
The first projects are already under implementation with Mechatronics Innovation Lab (MIL), a National Center for Innovation, piloting and qualifying technology, where Altibox and their local partner Afiber is installing the LoRaWAN antenna on the MIL building, providing coverage both to MIL as well as to the University of Agder (UiA) campus. The University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) has also joined the programme and will use the already existing Altibox LoRaWAN network in the region, coupled with the Dimension Four IoT platform.
The Dimension Four integration with Altibox and Thingpark Wireless from Actility will give the companies and organizations an even more flexible interface regarding IoT carriers as well as providing a shorter path to their first prototype. With Dimension Four’s in-house resources with extensive insight and experience within LoRaWAN communication they will also be able to support startups and those who want to utilize the network in their projects.
“Altibox Partners has been building a nation Wide sensor network since 2019 as a natural extension of the existing Fiber network. We are supporting Universities, schools and startups and through our cooperation with Dimension Four we will reach out to even more people,” said Torbjørn Nilsen, Head of sales IoT, Altibox. “Social responsibility is something you do through action, not only words. Altibox Partners are cheering on the good ideas that push us all forward.”
“We are really looking forward to a close relationship with the Altibox IoT team. This agreement enables us to help startups and curious minds investigate and learn more about IoT and new technologies. Also, as I have in the past worked with building the national LoRaWAN infrastructure, I’m excited to continue utilizing this technology with all its strength in regards to IoT connectivity”, states Daniel Warholm, Product Manager, Dimension Four.
“Teaming up with Altibox on helping other startups, as well as organizations, on their IoT journey is both motivational and a great source of inspiration for us at Dimension Four. By removing complexity, and cost, the companies can now fast track IoT-based innovation significantly”, Morten Steinvaag, Chief Commercial Officer, Dimension Four, adds.
